The business thinker behind Ishoka Hair and Beauty, Malcolm is a Salon Partner and a founding member of Ishoka Hair and Beauty. Coming from a fast paced business background, Malcolm, alongside Philip and Kathryn, knew the vision he wanted to bring to Aberdeen and through much research and dedication has achieved success like no other.

As a Salon Partner, Philip is one of the founding members of Ishoka Hair and Beauty. From the beginning of his career over 30 years ago, Philip has always had one goal in mind – to bring London service to Aberdeen, and this is one goal he continues to achieve. His commitment and passion to the industry have won him numerous awards including 3 times winner of Scottish Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards.

A founding member of the Ishoka brand, Kathryn has achieved fantastic success through her career within the hairdressing industry. An afro specialist, Kathryn has achieved award wins at the British Hairdressing Awards and black beauty Awards, and works closely with Philip and the salon team to provide the up-most in training and education for the Ishoka Team.

Lesley-Ann has been with Ishoka for over 16 years, initially starting her career on reception and latterly as Front of House Manager. Responsible for ensuring each client visit exceeds their expectations, Lesley-Ann also ensures the salon and the salon team run like clockwork. There is nothing she loves more than making Ishoka clients feel special.

Alison joined Ishoka as Saturday Assistant and has been with the company for over 25 years. A qualified trainer and assessor, Alison is not only a busy hairdresser, expert in Easilocks hair extensions and one of the salons key colour technicians, she is also involved in the training of the Ishoka team. A key instigator of the Ishoka Style Bar, Alison ensures Ishoka clients are always at the forefront of hair fashion.

Working within Ishoka for over 15 years, Rosemary is based in the salon working between the reception area and the office, where she is responsible for salon rotas and stock management. The first point of contact for the salon stockist’s representatives, Rosemary ensures your favourite product is always available at Ishoka.

As one of Ishoka’s longest serving team members, Diane has been part of the team for over 20 years, working part time as part of the Front of House team. Diane loves that each day is never the same, and has built a fantastic relationship with the salons loyal clientele and team surrounding her. A hardworking and dedicated individual, Diane loves working as a team and enjoys seeing the team achieving success.

Justin joined Ishoka as one of our mature assistants at the age of 25, and quickly fell in love with the craft, which saw him fly through the ranks of his training. Justin is now one of our stylists welcoming a fantastic female clientele in his first couple of years. In 2022 Justin finalised for Social Stylist of the Year at the prestigious British Hairdressing Business Awards and scooped the trophy for Aberdeens Society Hair and Beauty award.

One of the longest standing members of the Ishoka team, Irene has been with the team for over 21years and brings happiness, a calming and friendly atmosphere to the salon. Nothing is ever to much to ask Irene, and as a trusted team member, Irene is responsible for all house keeping duties.

One of Ishoka’s longest serving members of staff, Laura is a fantastic asset to the team. Laura loves a challenge, and more importantly, loves seeing her clients happy and over the moon with their finished result. From a young age, Laura new hairdressing was the industry for her and through years of dedication and passion for the trade, has built up a loyal clientele, relationship with the partners and the team and is known for her extensive knowledge of many different techniques.

After joining the salon in 2015, Marissa has enjoyed developing her colour and cut knowledge before becoming a stylist. As a stylist she loves to create all styles, but very much enjoys creating dimensional blondes and bouncy blowdrys.

As one of Ishoka’s resident Stylists, Gillian is a fantastic asset to the team and is always smiling within the salon. Gillian is great at building client relationships and enjoys nothing more than seeing clients feeling good about themselves with their new style. A head full of knowledge, Gillian is the one to speak to when looking to try out the latest in hairdressing retail products, and provides fantastic aftercare advice, having worked with the brands stocked for many years.

Having worked for Ishoka over the past 18years, Doreen is a crucial part of the Ishoka Front of House team. Her friendly persona and love for the clients shines through, and she takes each job and makes it her own. She loves interacting with clients and ensuring their experience at Ishoka is nothing less than exceptional.

Aged just 15, Megan started with Ishoka as a part-time Saturday girl and is now a fully qualified Stylist. She loves all things colour especially highlights and root blends.

With 17 years experience Stacey loves all aspects of hairdressing whist also adding new skills. However the most rewarding part for Stacey is seeing how great clients feel and look after their time in the salon. Stacey is welcoming both new and existing clients.

Hannah joined Ishoka in 2018. She has completed all of her training and is now Level 3 Qualified. Hannah is building her clientele in the salon and can offer all services on the salon floor. She loves all aspects of being a hairdresser but extensions are a firm favourite as she loves how sometimes adding in a couple of pieces of hair can really make a difference to a clients end result.

Anna moved to Aberdeen in 2022 from the USA where she worked in Beverly Hills & LA salons. Some of Anna’s favourite achievements include working for The Oscars and TV show work. She specialises in colour work and extensions.

Olivia is a hardworking and dedicated individual, who is determined to reach her goal of becoming a top stylist and completing her training in the salon. Olivia loves learning about new products and techniques from her team, whilst also enjoys working closely with the salons partners and trainers Philip and Kathryn.

Diaz joined us in 2021 as our Saturday girl and has progressed and joined the team full time to pursue her career in hairdressing! Diaz has been enjoying her blowdrying unit with bouncy blowdries being her favourite! She’s really excited to start doing colours and hair ups learning from both Kathryn and Philip.
